A CAST of puppets will be used to tell a captivating story of friendship between a troll and a girl later this months.
The Lempen Puppet Theatre will be visiting Crook on Thursday, March 28, as the company tours Britain with a production called The Last of the Trolls.
The play is set in 1930 and tells the tale of the hardship of life in the Coalby Mines, when a young troll, Rocky, and a girl called Millie form a touching friendship.
Arts co-ordinator for Wear Valley District Council, Denise Alexander, said: "Lempen Theatre have repeatedly delighted audiences throughout the country with their family shows, and we are absolutely delighted that we have got an opportunity to see them hear in Wear Valley.
"This wonderful production combines skilled puppetry, original music, clever sound and lighting effects and heaps of imagination."
The performance, for children aged six and upwards, takes place at the Elite Hall from 7pm.
Tickets are £3.50 for adults, £2 for concessions, or £7.50 for a family ticket.
