A LEADING art gallery has been invaded by a horde of tiny tin creatures intent on exploring every nook and cranny.
The inquisitive little beings, at the Mercer Art Gallery, in Harrogate, are all made from recycled materials and are the work of renowned craft maker Lucy Casson.
She uses cans, scrap wood, kitchen utensils, plastic and wire which she transforms with soldering and riveting. She gets her ideas from watching people and animals in everyday situations.
Ms Casson has worked frequently in Yorkshire but has also exhibited widely in the UK, Europe and in the US.
They are on exhibition at the Mercer Art Gallery in Harrogate from Saturday until May 5. Admission is free.
l Ms Casson is working in Japan with the Crafts Council, but will be in Harrogate on April 26 to give a guided tour of her exhibition, at 7pm, as well as to talk to art students during the day. For details call (01423) 556188.
