A search for a home for a collection of thousands of photographs and artefacts has resulted in success.
After being given a year by Scarborough Borough Council to raise about £500,000 to stay in its Grape Lane premises, Whitby Archives and Heritage Centre has opted to set up a museum at the town's United Reformed Church, in Flowergate.
Spokesman Keith Horne said "Though we were initially reluctant to move, all the trustees and staff are now delighted that we have been able to find such modern and ideal premises."
