POP band Travis made a triumphant return to the North-East with a sell-out concert at Newcastle's Telewest Arena this week.
On Tuesday night, the four-piece band underlined their status as one of the biggest bands in Britain at present, with a two-hour gig in front of thousands of adoring fans.
And the fans were not left disappointed, as the band blasted out an almost endless list of hits, starting with Sing, which was taken as an order by the vast majority of the crowd for most of the night.
Those who had paid a few pounds more for their seats may as well have not bothered - because before long almost all the fans were on their feet and singing their lungs out.
Travis make such infectious music that it is hard not to sing along, especially to hits such as Turn, Driftwood and Why Does It Always Rain On Me?, which enjoyed the biggest cheers of the night.
But to be honest, it was not even necessary to like Travis to enjoy the night, because the band have an uncanny ability to get their audiences on their side.
Lead singer Fran Healy spent most of the night telling us how much he loved performing in Newcastle and that North-East fans were the among the best - which is not a bad way to get people to cheer.
All this, coupled with a spectacular stage set which featured massive television screens flashing up images of the group, and clips from their videos, made for a night that fans will not forget.
