A TEENAGER is staging a charity fundraising match in memory of his friend who died in a four death crash between two cars on the Yorkshire Coast last October.
James Raw regularly played football with Gary Westwood, 17, and now a game has been arranged in which James and his friends will play a team of Scarborough police officers at the Pindar School, at Eastfield, on Sunday, March 17.
James said: "I was playing with Gary just a few days before the crash."
Trophies for the game are being presented by Gary's parents, Joe and Rita Westwood, of Crossgates.
Two other teenagers died in the crash on the Scarborough to Filey road, Chris Jones, 17, and Edward Nicholson, 17, the driver of one of the cars.
The driver of the other car, Maureen Hope, of Filey, also died in the accident.
Another teenager, Stuart Nevins, 17, remains in Scarborough Hospital as a result of his injuries.
