FOND memories of a vibrant church are needed to create a potted history before it reopens as a resource centre.
A book is to be placed in Bishop Auckland Town Hall Library for former members of the Wesleyan Methodist Church on Newgate Street, to jot down their memories and anecdotes before the building starts a new life as a community resource centre.
Material from the book will then be used in a commemorative booklet that will be available when the Four Clocks Project is launched in the building at the beginning of May.
All the staff have now been appointed for the £1.2m Four Clocks project, which will contain a coffee bar, creche, meeting and conference facilities for local groups and advice agencies.
Project director Meg Brown said the book will be in the library for the rest of this week and next.
She said: "We're looking for anecdotes and daft things that make people smile really."
