Children from Darlington Town Hall's nursery, Kids and Co, joined staff from Darlington Library to help promote Bedtime Reading Week and World Book Day.
The children listened to favourite bedtime stories, read by library assistant Elaine Wolstenholme.
Activities being held during Bedtime Reading Week, which runs from next Monday to Friday, will include a bedtime reading challenge, in which children who attend the library's Saturday Story Club will be invited to bring in their favourite stories to share with others.
The theme for World Book Day, next Tuesday, is family reading.
To mark the event, the visually impaired reading group recorded childhood reading experiences for Darlington's Talking Newspaper.
