A DISASTER-prone puppy got into its second major scrape yesterday when its head became lodged in a washing machine.
Copper, a nine-week old Lakeland terrier and Jack Russell cross, managed to lodge its head in the area normally occupied by the pump, at the bottom of its owners' washing machine.
The fire brigade was called, and used a hacksaw and coaxing to release the animal.
John Gleghorn, of Windermere Road, Seaham, County Durham, who owns Copper with his partner, Susan Curtis, said the incident was the second time the pup had got into mischief.
"He got into the garden pond only the second day after we got him home," he said. "I think he thinks he's a cat with nine lives.
