Ithe only match played John Bate of Hunwick entertained Jimmy Evans of Shotton Palms with Evans retaining his unbeaten record with a good win.
Evans got away to a good start with Bate always trying to play catch-up but never managing to get to Evans, who steadily widened the gap. A decisive 24 break took the Shotton player through to a victory by 64 points.
This result leaves Evans leading section A with an unbeaten record, with Charlie Donaghy of Tow Law in second place and Bate in third place. Heppell Hodgson of Tow Law is in fourth spot as the players strive for positions for the knock-out stages between the two sections. In section B Tom Ward of Hunwick leads, with Ken Robinson of Witton Gilbert just ahead of Norman Lowson of Hunwick and Arnold Fleming of Crook Belle Vue.
Worthington CIU Individual Championship
The Final round robin will be staged at Witton Gilbert Club on Thursday, March 14 (7pm). The players involved are Jimmy Evans, Heppell Hodgson, Tom Ward and Charlie Donaghy.
