Willington Area League
Willington Black Horse Tavern moved themselves into a serious challenging place for the Championship after they beat the visiting Willington Cottles by four points. This pushed the Tavern just two points behind the leaders, Prospect Club, who surprisingly went down by two points at Willington Burn. Sunnybrow Brown Trout are also in the Championship frame as they only trail the second placed teams by one point. The Black Horse Tavern won all the singles against Cottles when Peter Taylor, Aynsley Rainbow, Harold Farrar, Laurie Norman and Dave Hawkins. The home side added the first doubles through Donald Young and Dave Hawkins but Cottles took over to take the second doubles through John Dobinson and Keith Nicholson and followed it by taking the captain's point when Arthur Burnham beat Peter Taylor.

Tow Law Area League
Esh Stag's Head landed the Championship despite going down in their last match at Tow Law Rose and Crown. The second placed, Newhouse Club suffered a worse defeat at Sunniside Moss Inn and only managed to grab the runners-up trophies by a single point over Tow Law Station and the Moss Inn. The Stag's Head trailed after the singles at the Rose and Crown when Tony English, Stan Smith, Vena Gwynette and Sandra Snowdon won for the home side against wins from Dave Metcalfe and Tom March. The Rose and Crown went to their odd point victory when June Corrigan and Vena Gwynette took one of the three doubles.

Willington and District League
Willington Black Horse jumped to the top of the table after they whitewashed the visiting Willington Commercial with wins from Dale Wilson, Mark Davis, Andrew Irwin, Donald Young and Dave Hawkins. In the battle between the Prospect Club and Hunwick Club, the Prospect used home advantage to ease into second place with a win the decider. Ces Atkinson and Steven Britton won for the home wide with Dave Thompson and Ian Richardson levelling the match. In the decider the Prospect's Shaun Blyth beat Gary Moffatt.
The Prospect Club trail the Black Horse by two points but lead Hunwick Club by four points. Sharing the third spot with Hunwick Club are Sunnybrow Brown Trout, who have a match in hand over the teams above.

Tow Law and District League
Derek Mowbray, the landlord of Tow Law Rose and Crown, won the League Singles championship, which was held on his premises. In the Final he beat Michael Bell of Tow Law Station.
There were forty entries with the quarter finals results being Barry Sims (Hamilton Row Black Horse) beat Tom Hauxwell (Tow Law Station); Les Hind (Tow Law Football Club) lost to Michael Bell (Tow Law Station); Derek Mowbray (Tow Law Rose and Crown) beat Colin Armstrong (Tow Law New Market); Lee Cullinan (Sunniside Comedian) beat Tom Dowson (Tow Law Black Horse). In the semi-finals Michael Bell beat Barry Sims, whilst Derek Mowbray beat Lee Cullinan.
