A BOOK club which was just been launched at Stokesley Library is proving a big attraction with children.
Stokesley librarian Chris Bower said interest in the club was strong and it had become fully-booked with youngsters before last Friday's opening event.
"The children are involved in all sorts of book-related activities.
"They will be reading books, talking about them, drawing artwork for covers and using the internet - anything that helps promote and encourage them to read.
Mrs Bower is also responsible for Great Ayton Library and she added: "We only have space for 12 children at Stokesley and more are waiting to join. But we hope to include Great Ayton Library some time this year.
"The club is part of a nationwide book club project. At the moment, there are two libraries in North Yorkshire involved. These are at Stokesley and Richmond," she added.
The club is sponsored by telephone firm Orange, which has produced book packs and club stickers
