HARTLEPOOL United's play-off hopes are all but over after a disappointing 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers at Victoria Park.

Coming on the back of the midweek 1-1 draw with Lincoln, Pool now need a miracle to reach the play-offs for the third season in a row.

Yet it looked so promising in the first half. Pool were in control and the visitors were woeful. Gordon Watson's 14th of the season put Pool in front, smashing in from a tight angle after taking down Ritchie Humphreys' deep cross.

But once again, Pool failed to turn their dominance into goals and paid the price when Nathan Ellington curled a shot across Anthony Williams.
