Police investigations have been launched after a schoolboy fell under the wheels of a moving bus.
Jamie Lee Wells, 12, was killed as he stepped off a bus in Middlesbrough.
Cleveland police say the child left the bus through the entrance doors adjacent to the bus driver, falling below the vehicle and sustaining fatal injuries.
Police crash investigators are appealing for witnesses to the accident, which happened on Friday afternoon, to come forward.
The double decker was a Route 24 Stagecoach bus, the tragedy happening as it travelled along Burlam Road towards its junction with Roman Road.
Jamie lived in Linthorpe the area where the accident occurred. His parents were too devastated by the tragedy to comment.
