THE wackiest people in Darlington are being invited to help to mark the opening of a new store on the town's retail park.
To celebrate the launch of the ScS superstore, the shop is giving £2,000 to charity and more than £2,000 worth of computer equipment to two schools in the area.
Anyone who would like to bid for the money is being invited to turn up at the store's opening at Darlington Retail Park on Saturday, March 23, between 11am and 1pm, by travelling in the most unusual and creative mode of transport they can think up.
There will be two separate competitions, one for adults and one for children.
The adults' competition will be judged on the most original and fun mode of transport used to get to the store. The winner will be given the opportunity to make a donation of £1,000 to a charity of their choice.
There will also be a second prize donation of £500, followed by five other donations of £100.
Children will be given the chance to represent their schools, with two winners receiving a personal computer for their school.
All the youngsters have to do is get in their toy cars, trains or other transport toys and drive through the car park to the front of the store.
