A HOST of orchestras, bands and choirs will take part in a series of concerts in County Durham this month.
The County Wind Ensemble, Staindrop School Ensembles and Teesdale Folk Fiddle will be in concert at Staindrop Comprehensive School, on Wednesday, at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced at £4 and £2, are available from the school on (01833) 660285.
Greenfield Community School and Arts College will be the venue for a gala evening next Friday, at 7.15pm, featuring the youth choirs of south Durham, east Durham and Durham City, and Darlington Folk Fiddle and Percussion Group.
Tickets, costing £3 and £2, are available from the Kingsway Music Centre on (01388) 608421.
On the same night, there will be a jazz and blues event at Teesdale School, from 7.30pm, featuring Durham County Big Band, the Regional Big Band and Teesdale School Soul Band.

The County Youth Choir will perform at St Leonard's RC Comprehensive School, Durham City, next Friday, from 7pm.
Durham's Gala Theatre will be the venue for a concert by Supersonic Strings on Monday, March 18, at 7.15pm.
Concerts will also be performed by Darlington District Wind Band, at Dodmire Junior School, from 4.30pm and Durham District Wind Band, at Framwellgate Moor School, from 5pm on March 18.
Easington Wind Band, East Durham Youth Choir and Easington First Orchestra will be at Shotton Hall School, on March 19, at 7.15pm; and the County Wind Ensemble will end the series at Shotton Hall banqueting suite, on March 20 at 7.30pm.
