A consultation exercise begins next week on the future direction of Redcar and Cleveland borough.
The consultation is part of a review of the local plan, and will highlight the economic, social and environmental issues facing the area.
It will also link in with theborough council's key priorities: creating employment opportunities; tackling crime and making communities safer; investing in children, young people and lifelong learning; creating a sustainable environment; promoting an integrated transport system and improving health.
Information leaflets are being distributed and exhibitions have been set up at the development department's Cargo Fleet offices and Redcar Central Library.
Two mobile exhibitions will visit ten other libraries, the James Finegan Hall at Eston and the Liverton village hall. There will also be advertisements in buses.
The council's lead member for environment and infrastructure, Sylvia Szintai, said: "We want to involve as many people as possible in developing this plan. Every comment will be useful."
