A DURHAM college is celebrating after buying a forklift truck for its students.
Finchale Training College provides vocational training for disabled adults.
One of the courses it runs is warehouse and distribution, which includes the forklift driving certificate.
The college has bought a second truck - a refurbished Lansing Linde - for £8,000, thanks to donations.
Sunderland Lions Club donated £2,500 and the remainder came from the Hadrian Trust, Durham University Charities Kommittee, the Ballinger Charitable Trust, the Bonus Trust and the Rotary Club of Durham.
"The donation from Sunderland Lions Club is fan- tastic and it helped us get the remaining funding," said a spokeswoman for the college.
"The college principal gave a talk to the Lions club about the college's work and they expressed interest in helping us with a particular project."
