BUILDING a mini-replica of a cathedral clock and measuring the flight of a glider are two of the challenges to be set for a recycling challenge.
Next week is National Science Week, and in Bishop Auckland the Green Explorers Rural Recycling Challenge will be setting teams of young people with special needs some tough tasks.
The first challenge involves measuring the time it takes a plane to glide a certain distance without the use of a watch.
The second is a design challenge to see which team can create the best replica of the Durham Cathedral clock from a selection of recycled materials.
The teams will then be judged on a range of criteria, including teamwork, artistic and design ability and a spoken presentation of the challenge proposals.
The challenges will be set at the Discovery Centre, in Bishop Auckland Market Place, on Wednesday
