Spennymoor's run under new manager Tony Lee came to an end when they were beaten 1-0 in the semi final of the Chairman's Cup by Worksop on Saturday.
Moors had previously gone on a 12 game unbeaten run, but they lost to a second-half goal - and manager Tony Lee said that his side was "desperately unlucky."
He said: "I thought we played ever so well, and we should have had a penalty awarded in our favour, but the officials were behind play.
"Worksop hardly had any efforts at goal, and they scored in a goalmouth scramble.
"But the attitude of our lads was first class, and that will help us in the play off run in."
In the Premier Division, Whitby were denied a shock victory against leaders Burton Albion by a last minute goal.
The match was delayed 30 minutes because of heavy snow, and three Whitby players couldn't get through to the Turnbull Ground.
And because they only had the bare 11, they had to play with ten men after Lee Ure went off injured early in the game.
However, they battled hard against the league leaders and their efforts produced just rewards when they took the lead after 57 minutes when Dave Logan scored with a free kick, but Burton's Paul Talbot levelled deep into seven minutes of stoppage time.
Bishop Auckland's home game with Vauxhall Motors was postponed, not because of a waterlogged pitch, but because the visitors were beaten by the snow on their journey across the Pennines.
Whitby's draw with Burton Albion, and Hucknall's home win over Marine, mean that Bishops are now three points below safety, and with a worse goal difference.
Elsewhere in the Premier Division, Blyth won 2-1 at Burscough with goals from Glen Robson and Lee-Paul Scroggins.
Gateshead drew 1-1 at Runcorn with a goal from Gareth McAlindon.
Luton moved three points closer to Nationwide Division Three leaders Plymouth on Saturday by snatching a 2-1 victory over Rushden & Diamonds.
In difficult, blustery conditions it was Diamonds who had the better of the opening 45 minutes and they should have been in front at half-time.
It took them just two minutes into the second period to take the lead when Onandi Lowe got to the byline and his cross was turned into the net by his fellow Jamaican, Paul Hall.
Nine minutes later the visitors equalised when Matthew Taylor outpaced Ritchie Hanlon and Dean Crowe flicked home the cross at the near post. Luton sealed victory with a Steve Howard goal.
