TEENAGER Sarah Weedall will not be taking any nonsense from the boys when she takes to the football pitch in future.
The 17-year-old pupil at Wensleydale School, in Leyburn, North Yorkshire, is a qualified referee having successfully completed an eight-week Football Association course, along with a dozen male classmates.
The 100 per cent pass rate earned a special commendation from FA tutors.
Sarah faces her first real test at the Wensleydale School inter-form championships later this term.
"All of them did really well with both their written papers and an oral assessment of their knowledge of the rules of the game,'' said PE teacher, Lee Wasden "However, perhaps it was a little more difficult for Sarah as she has not grown up with football. Her favourite sport is hockey, but she took on the soccer referees course to help with her studies for an AS level in PE.''
Sarah and her classmates are now also qualified to referee at local league level
