A POLICE inquiry is under way after a car crashed into a house, causing damage which could run into thousands of pounds.
The incident happened at about 10.15pm on Monday in Stammergate, Thirsk - an area where residents have previously complained about the dangers of having houses so close to the road.
Nobody was injured, but the house was extensively damaged.
A 28-year-old man, who was driving the car, has yet to be interviewed by police
