A MAN appeared in court yesterday accused of a charity scam involving between £40,000 and £50,000.
Dean Russell White, 35, who is facing 12 charges, did not enter any pleas at Harrogate Magistrates' Court, North Yorkshire, and was remanded on bail until April 10 on condition he surrenders his passport, lives at his home in Sweet Briar on Killinghall Moor Estate, Harrogate, and reports weekly to police.
Mr White is accused of having a collection tin and badges for use in the course of or in connection with cheating, outside stores in Harrogate, Leeds and Maltby, near Rotherham, from June 3, 1998, to September 27, 2000.
