PUPILS at a Middlesbrough school were given advice about sex and relationships yesterday as part of a project aimed at reducing teenage pregnancies.
The Sex Education Roadshow, organised by Middlesbrough Healthy School Scheme, was at Keldholme Secondary School where 13 and 14-year-olds learnt about contraception, sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy, from a team of trained advisors.
Healthy School Scheme tutor Avrille McCann said: "The roadshow is funded by the Teenage Pregnancy Strategy Group and Middlesbrough has the eighth highest level of teenage pregnancy in the country, which is why we got the funding."
The roadshow visited Coulby Newham School last week and will be at Acklam Grange School next week. It will visit other schools in the town later in the year.
