l Junior pupils at Polam Hall school enjoyed a sleep-over as part of Bed Time Reading Week.
They were entertained by teachers and sixth formers reading stories as they spent the night in the old gym. The week started with a chance for the girls to go to lessons in pyjamas and take their teddy bears with them.
Last Wednesday, storyteller Tony Wilson entertained the pupils, and on Thursday, year three and four pupils were allowed to stay overnight at school.
Headteacher Angela Foster said: "This has been a really excellent week for the children. Every event has emphasised the fun that reading can give and has encouraged girls who would not naturally think about reading to pick up a book and read for pleasure."
