A GROUP of youngsters became newshounds for the day yesterday.
Year ten and 11 pupils at Grangefield School, Stockton, got together to create a 16-page tabloid called The Students Grasp.
Each of them took on roles of journalists, sub-editors and the editor in a bid to sniff out the best news stories of the day.
Shirley Douglas, co-ordinator of the event, said: "The whole day is a very good experience for the youngsters.
"It gives them the chance to work to tight deadlines and experience different writing styles."
The finished copy will be entered into the Times Educational Supplement newspaper competition.
