A COUPLE have vowed not be driven from their home by vandals.

Janet McDonagh and her husband, Gabriel, of Haig Street, Ferryhill Station, woke yesterday to find white paint covering their car and the house windows.

She said: "The paint was all over the living room windows and splattered on my husband's car, the pavements and the road.

"It has definitely been done deliberately."

Mrs McDonagh feels she has been singled out, but is determined not to be forced out.

She said: "I feel absolutely 100 per cent that it has been deliberately targeted at me and I'm not at all happy.

"I have even been on to a company that is going to install me a CCTV (closed-circuit television) system."

A police spokesman said scenes of crime officers had investigated and inquiries were continuing.

Anyone with information about the vandal attack is asked to contact PC Neil Northend, at Newton Aycliffe police, on (01325) 314401.
