Durham Ranking Tournament
The next tournament will be held in Durham Snooker Club on Sunday, March 31 with an enrolment time of 12.30pm.
The top 32 players over the year qualify to play for the big money prize in the final tournament but each monthly competition has prizemoney of between £180 and £200 for the winner, runner-up, beaten semi-finalists and the Plate winner to share.

Bishop Auckland and District League
Crook Olde Horse Shoe, current league leaders and champions for a number of seasons, suffered their heaviest defeat for years when they visited the new team from neighbours, Crook Coach and Horses and only collected three points. The Coach had two points from Alan Moses, Michael Burke and Neil Harker with Les Scott and Aaron Cowan adding one each. Gavin Witton and Kevin Waterhouse scored one singles each for the Olde Horse Shoe. The Coach took the doubles through Neil Campbell and Lee Scott, then Les Scott and Gavin Witton shared the captain's games as they had done in the singles.
Spennymoor Ashtree pulled off a good away win at Bishop Auckland King's head to overtake their hosts in the table. The King's had two singles points from Andrew Tuesday and Mal Parry and one from John Searle. The Ashtree maintained the same pace with two points from Alan Jones and Paul Biddle and one from Stephen Jones. The visitors took the doubles through Tony Biddle and Stephen Jones with Paul Biddle completing the victory when he beat Mal Parry in both captain's games.
The Olde Horse Shoe lead the table by two points with the Ashtree sharing second place with Bishop Auckland Snooker Club B. The King's Head are a further point adrift with the Coach and Horses just a point behind them.

Willington League
Itop of the table clash, Hunwick Club managed to extend their lead at the top to four points when they beat the second placed visitors from Howden Australian by the odd point. The Aussie went into a two points lead with wins from Ian Williams and John Allot. The home side then took over and won the next four points through Robert Todd, Gary Moffatt, Nigel Laws and Ian Richardson. The Aussie took two of the three doubles but went down when Mike O'Brien and Gary Moffatt won their doubles.
The Prospect Club moved up three points behind the Australian after beating their hosts at Hunwick Quarry Burn by three points. Only Keith Dufton took a singles for the home side whilst Dave Peacock, Lane Sample, Adrian Peacock, Steve Britton and Phil Blyth won for the Prospect, who added one of the three doubles to complete their victory.

Chester-le-Street Garden edged through a tough home team Knock Out Cup quarter final to just beat Ushaw Moor Catholic Club.

Spennymoor League
Leaders, Spennymoor Salvin Arms went down to the visiting Spennymoor Victoria, who jumped up into third place just a point behind Spennymoor Voltigeur, who trail the leaders by a point. The Victoria share their third place with Spennymoor Half Moon.
The Salvins won the singles with points from A. Kyle, L. Outhwaite and T. Howarth whilst M. Nelson and A. Shaw took points for the Victoria. The visitors went on to take the remaining points when they won both doubles through J. Ibbotson with S. Bell and C. Armstrong with M. Jayne. They completed their good win when A. Shaw beat R. Cannon in the captain's game.
Spennymoor Pit Laddie fell foul of the league rules when they failed to get their scorecard in on time and were deducted two points.

Bishop Auckland
Area League
Good performances from both Gary Dixon and David Brassell this week stopped the Bishop Auckland Green Tree getting revenge over Bishop Auckland Derby for last weeks 6-2 scoreline. Both players won their singles games and the A Doubles between them to give the Derby three out of their four points this week. The other point was contributed by Stuart Milne in the singles. For the Green Tree the Singles winners were Melvin Metcalfe and Steve Sefton with both players combining in the B Doubles to also take that game. Neil Brown picked up the Captains game for the Green Tree to leave the final score 4-4. There were good wins for both St. Helens Wheatsheaf and Bishop Auckland Kings Head this week. The Kings took seven out of the eight points from Bishop Auckland Aclet whilst the Wheatsheaf beat Henknowle Manor by the same scoreline. For the Kings Malcolm Parry, Peter Mernor, David Jacomb and John Searle won in the singles with Derek Cooper taking the Aclet's only point of the night. The Kings then went on to win the A Doubles through David Jacomb and Andrew Tuesday, the B Doubles through John Searle and Malcolm Parry with Peter Mernor winning the Captains game to take the match 7-1.
At St. Helens Wheatsheaf Trevor Nixon, Andy Mole and Kelvin Anderson took the first three singles games to give the home side an early lead against an undermanned Manor side. John Collinson tried to inspire a fight back with a victory in the next game for the Manor but with only four players available they had to concede the final singles point. Gary Brown and Steve Horner took yet another point for the Wheatsheaf in the A Doubles and the B Doubles had to be conceded by the Manor. Andy Mole then won the Captains game for the Wheatsheaf to give them a 7-1 victory.

Tow Law League
The League's Annual Presentation Evening will be held at Tow Law New Market at 7.30pm on Wednesday, March 27. All teams must have a registered representative present to collect their team's share of the point money. The League's annual meeting will be held at Tow Law Cattle Mart at 7.30pm prompt on Tuesday, April 16.
