IT'S decision day for campaigners who want a public inquiry into the Richard Neale scandal.
More than 200 women, who say they suffered at the hands of the now disgraced North Yorkshire surgeon, will learn today whether a full inquiry will take place.
Mr Justice Scott Baker will give his ruling five weeks after an application for a judicial review.
A legal team representing former patients of the former Friarage Hospital consultant argued that the High Court should order the Department of Health to hold a full public inquiry
According to Sheila Wright-Hogeland, the former model turned campaigner who helped found the support group in 1998, the credibility of the health establishment is at stake.
"It is all about the public's right to know the truth," said Mrs Wright-Hogeland, who lives near Kirkbymoorside in North Yorkshire.
If the decision goes against the group, she could face a legal bill for up to £75,000.
