SCHOOLS in Darlington have been learning how to carry out projects to benefit young people and the environment.
Teachers representing more than half the borough's 49 schools attended the Darlington Schools Environment and Wildlife Conference yesterday, at the town's Arts Centre.
In workshops, the delegates discussed issues including waste, travel, nature, and local nature reserves.
They looked at how schools can carry out projects, as well as what support is available to help sustain the schemes.
Rachel Wood, local agenda 21 officer for Darlington Borough Council, said: "The afternoon was a tremendous success."
