NEVER mind glamorous fashion parades by the likes of Jean Paul Gaultier, last night the only place to be for the sartorially minded was St Bede's RC Comprehensive in Lanchester.
The fifth and sixth-form students presented their own sell-out fashion show using clothes donated by the biggest high street names.
The youngsters were expecting to raise about £1,500 for the Changing Rooms charity, which aims to improve conditions in Romanian orphanages.
"The students have really got stuck into this one," said teacher Helena Windle.
"In fact it has almost been the most important thing for some of them to do while they've been at school.
"About 250 people are expected to attend tonight, which will be a good reward for all their hard work."
Student Lizzie Glendinning had become heavily involved in organising the event and thanked all the shops who had helped out the school.
