THE hunt is on for a corgi fit for a queen to join the cast of Roald Dahl's The BFG (Big Friendly Giant) at Newcastle's Theatre Royal next week.
Corgi auditions are taking place at the theatre on Tuesday at 2.30pm and interested owners are asked to contact Judith Cheston on (01608) 661198 to book a place on the list.
Spokesman Greg Miller said: "A royal pedigree is not essential, a generally regal air is sufficient, but the dog has to be trained to walk to heel and be used to people and noise. There is no pay, but as many dog biscuits as they can eat."
The BFG runs from Tuesday until Saturday, March 23. Box office: 0191-232 2061.
