RESIDENTS in Hartlepool are being encouraged to help organise a community fun day.
New Deal for Communities held a fun day for the first time last year in the grounds of Lynnfield School and is planning a similar event this year.
Bob Farrow, who sits on the New Deal Steering Group, said: "The fun day event last year went really well and everyone seems keen to do it again. We are at the very early planning stages and would like more people to get involved to help organise the event."
The New Deal for Communities initiative in Hartlepool has received £54m of Government money to spend during the next ten years transforming an area bordering the town centre, stretching from Hart Lane in the north to Belle Vue in the south, with 10,000 residents.
A meeting will be held at the People's Centre, Raby Road, on Monday at 1pm.
Anyone living in the New Deal area who is interested in getting involved can turn up at the meeting. For more details contact Bob Farrow on (01429) 221832.
