PUPILS and teachers are celebrating after receiving a good Ofsted report.
Marwood Church of England School, Great Ayton, was visited by inspectors last November.
The report said: "It is a very good school where pupils achieve well and attain high standards in reading, writing, maths and religious education."
It also described the good teaching throughout the school and good links with the parents. It said these were supported by the caring family atmosphere underpinned by Christian values.
The headteacher, Vivienne Smith, said: "It is wonderful to have the hard work of the pupils, staff, governors and parents formally acknowledged by Ofsted."
Plans are already under way to address an issue raised by the report, regarding the improvement of outdoor play provision for the younger children, in order to follow national guidance.
