A CAR boot sale, which has become a traditional part of the Easter programme in the heart of Wensleydale, will return this year after being cancelled in 2001 due to the foot-and-mouth crisis.

Wensley Parish Church will benefit from the Easter Monday event at Bolton Park, on the Bolton Abbey estate.

Teas will be available from a marquee, while other stalls raising funds for the church will be selling cakes and bric-a-brac.

"I hope as many people as possible will come along and enjoy the event, support other facilities in the area and enjoy the Dales countryside," said landowner Lord Bolton.

Admission on the day will cost 50p. Stallholders will be charged £5 if they are in a car or £7 if they arrive in a van, with all the proceeds to be donated to the church.
