ACCOUNTANT Angela Burton will be bald as well as bold when she sets off on a ten-week cycle through Borneo.
The 40-something will also take part in a trek to the summit of Mount Kinabalu and white water rafting as part of the charity fundraising challenge.
But in a bid to raise as much money as she can for the Leonard Cheshire Foundation, a charity which provides services for disabled people, Ms Burton will be having her head shaved.
Ms Burton, from Darlington, works for Stoneacre Suzuki in Durham and Liverpool.
She will have half her hair shaved in the Merseyside showroom, before crossing the country and having the rest clipped in Durham.
She said: "My friends and family think I'm mad to get my head shaved, but I thought it was a good way to get people's attention and raise as much money as I can for the charity.
"My biggest concern is the journey from Liverpool to Durham, when I will only have half my hair. I am sure I will get some pretty funny looks from other motorists."
Ms Burton aims to raise more than £2,000 for the foundation before she flies out to Borneo, next month.
Anyone wishing to sponsor her can send money, equipment or cheques, made payable to the Leonard Cheshire Foundation, to 38 The Causeway, Darlington, DL1 1EW.
