LITTERBUGS watch out - a youngster is on your case.
Zoe Zand, 14, of Sacriston, recently won a competition to design a poster to help clean up the village's litter problem. Her handiwork is now posted up all over the village, urging people to clean up.
A pupil of Fyndoune Community College, in Sacriston, near Chester-le-Street, Zoe won the competition run by Chester-le-Street District Council and Sacriston Traders' Association.
Christine Davies, the council's commercial manager, said: "Litter was becoming more and more of a problem in Sacriston."
After a classroom talk by Christine and Vicky Wooton, a council environmental technician, more than 30 pupils entered their artwork.
Five students won prizes, but Zoe was the overall winner, receiving £20.
