THE Mayor of Stockton was rescued by firefighters on Saturday after getting stuck in the town hall.
The event was staged by Cleveland Fire Brigade to raise money for four-year-old Rosie Henry, a firefighter's daughter from Northallerton, North Yorkshire, who suffers from a neuro-degenerative condition.
Firefighters from Stockton teamed up with the mayor, Councillor Terry Bean, to collect donations for the Rosie Henry Trust Fund.
They transported Coun Bean to safety using a hydraulic platform.
Geoff Crawford, from Red Watch Stockton, said: "We want to raise as much money as possible for Rosie, who has severe problems with mobility, speech and eating. As a three-year-old she could run, play and climb and do everything you would expect of a healthy, happy little girl.
"However, because of her illness she will continue to deteriorate and become less independent. For this reason we want to help her by supporting the trust fund which aims to improve her quality of life."
