THE campaign against road tax cheats comes to the region today with a warning that there will be no hiding place for dodgers.
Police and officials from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) are joining forces on Teesside to clamp down on drivers using unlicensed vehicles.
It is estimated there are about 13,000 on the roads of Teesside and, apart from being untaxed, many have no insurance or test certificate. DVLA enforcement teams will patrol the streets, with authority to clamp unlicensed vehicles, while "stingray" cameras will be used to detect untaxed vehicles on the move.
