AN exhibition aims to illustrate the impact of time on a North Yorkshire market town.
Local historians John Symington, Pat Wood and Ron Wood were invited to delve in to the archives of the Harrogate Fine Art Collection, selecting pictures of Knaresborough through the ages.
Their choice goes on show at the Knaresborough Castle Museum at Easter alongside photographs taken by all three to show how each scene looks today.
Some scenes have not altered much, others have changed dramatically.
"I think our selection will be interesting for local people and to visitors who will learn about the changing face of Knaresborough," said Mr Symington.
Visitors may be able to help the three with their research into the town's past. One of the pictures, The Sculptor's Loft, shows the studio of artist Frances Darlington around 1920. But no one has been able to identify where the studio was located.
"We hope visitors may be able to shed some light on this puzzle," said Pat Wood
