PUPILS from one North Yorkshire school will be making a drama out of a crisis today.
The children for Norton Primary School, near Malton, have been working with 22-year-old drama graduate Kirsty Bray on a production which reflects the community's battle with floods caused by the River Derwent over the past few years. Homes have been devastated several times, although defences are now in the pipeline.
"They did some workshops after school, talking about what people went through," said Kirsty.
"We looked at newspaper cuttings for the time and talked to residents who had their homes flooded.
"The project has been about the whole drama process, and how things are developed to the final performance."
The result of the children's work goes on stage at Norton Primary School, at 7pm.
