PEOPLE are being offered the chance to find out more about a prison's work at a promotional event.
The Frankland Meeting the Community event will be held at Framwellgate Moor School, in Durham, on April 18.
It aims to promote Frankland Prison's work and emphasise its important role within the community. The event follows a similar one last year, which took place at the prison's visitor centre, and will focus especially on the prison's desire to improve communications between itself and the community.
It will also provide an ideal opportunity for voluntary groups involved with the prison to raise their own profiles.
Prison governor Ivor Woods said: "We hope to encourage people from the community to come along so that they can obtain a much clearer understanding of the work that is undertaken by prison staff and volunteer groups.
"The event will also provide the opportunity for the community to raise any issues they may have, directly with us.
