A CHARITY group which works to support Northallerton's Friarage Hospital has said its mission remains unchanged, despite reorganisation within the health service.
The hospital falls under the umbrella of the South Tees NHS Trust and the newly-formed Hambleton and Richmondshire NHS Trust, from April 1.
The League of Friends of the Friarage Hospital will change its name to the Friends of the Friarage and the Primary Care Trust of Hambleton, Richmondshire and the Dales.
It will remain focused on facilities in Northallerton. The Friends have just announced the completion of a £700,000 fundraising drive for a new children's ward at The Friarage. Construction work is expected to start early next year.
"We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who have given their time and money so generously to this appeal," said Friends chairman Brian Thompson.
