Cash boost for luncheon club
ELM Road Luncheon Club, in Shildon, hosts an evening of music through the decades by Relativity Plus One. There will also be a raffle and bingo at the event at Elm Road Workingmen's Club, on Saturday, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £2 and are available on (01388) 777658 or at the club. Proceeds will go towards outings for the senior citizens' luncheon club.
LICENSING MEETING: A meeting of Wear Valley District Council's licensing committee will be held on Thursday, at the Civic Centre, Crook, at 6pm.
Country night: Crook Town Cricket Club is hosting a country and western evening with Gary West, on Saturday, at 8pm. Tickets cost £2 and are available at the door.
Line dancing: A line dancing evening with entertainment from Dave Maddison, takes place at Crook Town Cricket Club tonight at 8pm.
BAND FUNDRAISER: Teesdale Pipes and Drums will be performing at the Forresters pub, at Coundon, on Sunday, from 3pm. There will be collections throughout the afternoon to raise money for the Bubble Appeal, Newcastle General Hospital's children's bone marrow transplant unit.

EURO TALK: Durham Euro MP Stephen Hughes will visit Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College, in Darlington, on Thursday to talk to students about European issues.

STITCHERS' SALE: The National Council of Women's Darlington and District branch is holding a stitchers' sale tomorrow, at Blackwell Grange Golf Club, Briar Close, from 10am to 12.30pm. Admission costs £2, including coffee and biscuits.
