LEE Cusworth is switching on to a bright future as an electrician, thanks partly to a scheme to help youngsters get onto apprenticeships.
The 21-year-old, who lives in the Owton Manor area of Hartlepool, is just finishing his three-year apprenticeship with Hartlepool firm CDH Electrical, which offers a full range of electrical services to homes and companies around the North-East.
A grant to help subsidise the cost of Lee's on-the-job training came from the Jobs Build Project, which is funded by the Owton Rossmere Partnership.
The scheme can offer employers up to £2,350 to help them take on young people from the partnership area as apprentices.
