ANYONE who would like to congratulate the Queen on her 50-year reign can sign a commemorative book, which is circulating in the Harrogate district.
The new mayor of the borough, as well as the mayors of Ripon, Knaresborough, Boroughbridge and Pateley Bridge, will all sign their names in the official Book of Thanksgiving marking the Golden Jubilee, when they take up office in May.
However, members of the public also have the chance to add their names from this Friday, when the book will be available to sign at Harrogate Borough Council's headquarters, in Crescent Gardens, Harrogate.
It then moves to Knaresborough House on Monday, Pateley Bridge library on Monday, April 8, Boroughbridge library on Monday, April 29, and Ripon library on Monday, May 6.
The book will remain in Ripon until a service of thanksgiving is held at the city's cathedral on Sunday, June 2, at 11.30am.
As seating is expected to be limited, tickets for the event are available by writing to the Mayor's Secretary, at Harrogate Borough Council, Crescent Gradens, Harrogate, or by telephoning (01423) 556022.
