AN Army of walkers is setting out to keep people of all ages healthy and fit as part of a campaign to get residents walking around their communities.
More than a dozen volunteer walkers will be helping to organise the Health Walks Gateshead scheme, which aims to get thousands of people to take part in regular exercise across the borough.
From May, volunteer walkers will be organising regular two-mile circular urban walks, and will promote the health benefits of walking.
