NEWCASTLE United manager Bobby Robson is backing a new computer game which uses high quality graphics to promote fitness among schoolchildren.
The new CD Rom called "It's Your Goal" will be used at the Newcastle United Learning Centre, a modern learning centre which is used by 1,000 schoolchildren every week.
Mr Robson attended the launch of the CD Rom and met youngsters trying it out for the first time.
The aim of the game is help a footballer who has fallen under a wizard's spell and lost his fitness.
The Magpies' manager challenges the youngster playing the game to get the footballer back to peak fitness.
The player has to make decisions about diet, exercise and lifestyle to help the footballer.
It is hoped that some of the health information about fitness will rub off on the young players.
The game is produced by a multi-agency group, including the NHS, two local authorities, Newcastle United and multi-media company Indigo. It is financed by the Newcastle and North Tyneside Charitable Fund.
