AN exhibition of work by children from east Cleveland primary schools has been opened at the Tom Leonard Mining Museum, in Skinningrove, on Tuesday.
The display marks the culmination of work for 12 children who have been involved in a local history project for the past six weeks.
The children have been encouraged to explore ideas of what life would have been like as a young worker underground using items, news stories and photographs from the museum's collection.
The children chose to come to the museum as part of a project in conjunction with the Education Action Zone for East Cleveland.
The exhibition of their work will be on display when the museum re-opens to the public as from the Easter weekend, Friday, March 29.
The museum is open from 1pm, with last admission at 3.45pm. As of next Friday the museum will be open Monday to Saturday, and also on Easter Sunday
