A DELEGATION of Government officials from Jersey visited the region yesterday for a regular update on the development of a new school.
The five officials landed at Teesside International Airport before making their way to Rye Hills School, in Redcar, the £7.7m establishment funded through the Private Finance Initiative.
The Jersey officials were keen to see how the Redcar project has developed, from its embryonic idea through to completion, because they are considering similar schemes in the Channel Islands.
Deputy headteacher Mike Erskine said it was the third time the party of officials had visited.
He said: "We are delighted to see them as it continues to cement a relationship."
Mr Erskine added: "They wanted to look at the way that the partnering contract that included the school's design, procurement and the construction was inter-linked.
