DURHAM comic and Radio Cleveland DJ Sue Sweeney has landed a regional slot on the BBC's night network.
Ms Sweeney's hopes of being selected for TV soap Emmerdale, through ITV's Soapstars contest, were dashed in the final stages. Now, she is bouncing back.
"The decision was utter hell," she said. "I am still afraid of going out shopping, because people comment about what happened, but now I have been asked to go along to Newcastle's Pink Palace (the home of BBC Radio Newcastle) and broadcast on Tuesday nights, between 7pm and 10 pm.
"It will still be my formula of being a bit mad and very sincere, and I will still be doing my Sunday show for Radio Cleveland.
